What do we need to get our marriege licence in Texas ? 

To get a marriage license in Texas, both applicants must appear in person at a county clerk’s office with a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID) and know their Social Security number.

The fee is typically $70–$90, with a 72-hour waiting period before the ceremony, which is valid for 90 days. Please confirm with your local county court house. Prices may be different. 


Requirements & Steps: Age and Identity: 

Applicants must be 18 or older and present proof of identity and age (e.g., birth certificate, driver’s license, passport).

Divorced Applicants: If either party was divorced in Texas within the last 30 days, a certified copy of the divorce decree is required, although this requirement can be waived.

Cost & Savings: The fee is usually $81-$82, but it can be reduced by $60 to around $21 if you complete the Twogether in Texas premarital counseling course.


Waiting Period & Validity: There is a 72-hour waiting period after issuance before the ceremony, though this is waived for active-duty military or with a Twogether in Texas certificate.


The license is valid for 90 days.


Application: You do not need to be a Texas resident, but you must provide the necessary information, sign the application in the presence of the clerk, and obtain the license before the ceremony.

No Blood Test: Texas does not require a blood test or medical exam.
